Born into a family of Bizen potters, Jin Morimoto studied sculpture at a university in Tokyo, and it was his apprenticeship in Mino that led him to reconsider the tradition of Bizen ware. Using Bizen clay fired to a pale white in a kerosene kiln, his flower vessels and other works retain the raw texture of the earth while feeling light and distinctly contemporary. The artist will be present on Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th. No reservation required.
