Charity Sale in Support of Kumamoto Earthquake & Chiba Flood Victims

A charity initiative to support victims of the Kumamoto earthquake and Chiba flooding. Organized by four Mashiko retailers — Tsukamoto, Toko, Moegi, and Yamani Otsuka — the event features work by more than 200 artists sold across the participating shops, with all proceeds donated as disaster relief funds.

Object Exhibition "Evolving Forms – Contemporary Japanese Objects –"

An exhibition presenting the diverse sculptural expressions of contemporary Japan through three-dimensional works that transcend boundaries of material, technique, and genre. Organized in two parts: "Monochrome" (Sept. 3–12), exploring form and texture with restrained color, and "Chroma" (Sept. 17–Oct. 3), celebrating the rich interplay of color, form, and material. Twelve artists participate across both parts.

Yuta Seki & Akira Tsuzuki — New Works in Online Shop

Artist: 関雄太, 都築明

Works by Yuta Seki (Ibaraki) and three new items from Akira Tsuzuki (Nagasaki) will go live in the online shop on Friday, September 4 at 9:00 p.m. About half the pieces will also be on display in the physical store.

Naoto Ishii Exhibition: 'Heika' (Response Verse)

Artist: 石井直人

An exhibition by ceramicist Naoto Ishii introducing his new work, 'Mame Hana Hachi.' Fired in an anagama kiln, the pieces draw their colors from natural kiln effects, carrying within them a quiet sense of response — like a verse answered in kind. Conceived as vessels for the Taiwanese dessert 'douhua,' how each bowl is ultimately used is left entirely to its owner.

"Footsteps of Nature" Exhibition

Artist: 坂本友希, 新城文香, 神永朱美

An exhibition and sale of ceramics and dyed textiles that evoke the presence of the natural world. Works featuring plants and animals as motifs accompany the gentle transition from summer into autumn. Online sales also available.

Kihoko Oba — Miniature Dish and Chopstick Rest Release

Artist: 大場紀穂子

Artist Kihoko Oba's signature piece — a dish that doubles as a chopstick rest — goes on sale Saturday, September 5 at noon through the "Otona no Yakimono" online shop. Featuring a sparrow character and traditional Japanese patterns reinterpreted in a contemporary style, these are truly one-of-a-kind pieces.

Keiji Ito Exhibition

Artist: 伊藤慶二

An exhibition of ceramic sculptures, oil paintings, charcoal drawings, and ink works by Keiji Ito. Opening day, Saturday September 5, doors open at 1:00 PM; thereafter, hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (closed Mondays and Tuesdays, except public holidays). The artist will be present on September 5 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. The exhibition is held throughout the entire gallery.

Atsushi Ogata — Ceramic Exhibition

Artist: 尾形アツシ

A ceramic exhibition by Atsushi Ogata marking the launch of Ginza Chamartei. The show brings together the fruits of thirty years of pottery-making at his studio in Uda City, Nara, with pieces in kohiki, brushwork, and ash glaze — ranging from everyday tableware to large statement jars. Ogata will be in attendance on opening day, September 8. The 4F Chamartei space is open without reservation.

Kim Hono Exhibition

An exhibition by Kim Hono, held at Yokariyo in Okinawa. Opens September 11.

Unwind – Shinji Terauchi / Risogama Solo Exhibition

Artist: 寺内信二

A solo exhibition by Shinji Terauchi, head of the Arita ware kiln Risogama. On display and for sale are one-of-a-kind pieces thrown by Terauchi himself on the wheel, alongside a carefully selected range of Risogama tea and sake ware made for this exhibition. The artist is expected to be present on Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12.

Masanobu Ando Exhibition

Artist: 安藤雅信

An exhibition of works by Masanobu Ando, held at factory zoomer / life. The show includes teapots (chafu) designed for Chinese tea brewing—compact and rounded like the fruit of a plant, available in sizes ranging from approximately 90 to 150 ml. The flat handle is designed for a steady, comfortable grip.

Hunho Kim Exhibition: "Wavering Particles"

Artist: 金 憲鎬

A solo exhibition by Hunho Kim featuring works themed around "wavering" and "particles." The gallery will be closed on Thursday, September 17. Open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Kasama Ceramics Exhibition

An exhibition featuring four ceramic artists from Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture: Aya Kondo, Tetsuya Kobayashi, Yuki Osuna, and Tomokazu Kawasumi. Their diverse individual styles—deep hues with delicate decoration, celadon glaze, charming animal motifs, and surfaces evoking the look of metal—come together in Kyoto for a richly varied display.

Rando Aso: Earthscape

A new solo exhibition by Rando Aso, who explores the relationship between space and form through firing techniques such as open-fire burning and black pottery, rooted in the primal connection between earth and fire. In his first collaboration with speaker brand listude, the exhibition creates a space where art and sound resonate together.
