Drawn from a collection of approximately 600 objects gathered in West Africa during the 1970s by anthropologist Junzo Kawada (1934–2024) and ceramicist Machiko Ogawa (1946–), this exhibition presents around 350 pieces. Items on display include woven grasses, earthenware, textiles, leatherwork, beadwork, musical instruments, ritual masks, and furniture — objects that accompanied the everyday lives of the people who made and used them.
