A solo exhibition by lacquerware artist Shuji Ota. On display are Negoro-nuri lacquer pieces, bowls, trays, and other lacquerware, all crafted by the artist from the sourcing of wood through to the final coat. The works are characterized by a quiet, modest beauty inspired by the dignified lacquerware of the pre-Muromachi period. An online store will run concurrently with the exhibition.
