Born in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, in 1985. After graduating from the Ishikawa Prefectural Kutani Ware Technical Training Institute in 2012, he completed a graduate program in crafts at Kanazawa College of Art in 2015. Based in Ishikawa Prefecture, he creates Kutani ware, handling every stage of production himself—from wheel-throwing the porcelain to applying overglaze decoration. His work is distinguished by surreal, humorous, and highly original painted designs, with meticulous attention to every detail from the form of each piece to the patterns inside and out.
