A brand by Junko Shindo, a ceramic artist from Masuda, Shimane Prefecture. After completing the Ceramics Course at Saga Junior College of Art, she also finished the Pattern Design Course at the Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Technology Training Institute. She launched motif. in 2021. Working in porcelain with underglaze blue (sometsuke) technique, she decorates her pieces with a rich array of distinctive motifs — chonmage-coiffed figures, professional wrestling, the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, animals, and more. She is based in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture.
