Born in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture. After graduating from the Kyoto Traditional Crafts College, he trained under Shinsui Ichino, a master of Tamba ware, and established his own studio in Tanba Sasayama, Hyogo Prefecture, in 2020. His work is defined by a "cooling reduction" firing technique that introduces gas into an electric kiln, and rich, deep glazes made with Kita-machi stone sourced from his home prefecture of Shimane. He pursues vessels that are practical for everyday use while fully expressing the raw texture of coarse red clay.
