"Kohaku," a new gallery shop by ∴chimugusui, opened on June 6, 2025. It is a space to connect with inner stillness through the scent of plants, the feel of vessels in hand, and the gentle play of light and shadow.

Takeshi Nishiura — Echizen Ash-Glazed Tea Bowl

Artist: 西浦武

An ash-glazed tea bowl by Takeshi Nishiura, a potter from Nyuu District, Fukui Prefecture. Rooted in Echizen clay and firing traditions, his work draws on a range of ceramic styles including Momoyama-period pottery. This particular bowl calls to mind Ki-Seto ware, with a front face dotted with tanpan (copper sulfate) and a warm, tofu-skin-like yellow surface. It is a piece that speaks to Nishiura's depth as an artist—grounded in tradition yet reaching toward new expression.

Tsukurou cocoro.: Permanent Display

A shop in Tama Center, Tokyo, specializing in ceramics alongside textiles and paper goods. The shop carries handcrafted works by artists and presents ceramics in seasonal floral and interior settings. Consultations on vessel pairings, kintsugi repair, and knitwear alterations are also available.

Hakutosha Permanent Display and Sales

A curated selection of vessels in varied shades of white—from the crisp white of porcelain to the softer white of earthenware—each with its own distinct character. The shop also carries antiques, vintage furniture, curiosities, and rare collectibles across a broad range. Advice and sales on small furniture are welcome. Open Thursday through Sunday, 11:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Gallery savi no niwa, which carries works such as Masato Yamawaki's carbonized deep bowls (5-sun size), will be open on the 28th (Friday), 29th (Saturday), and 30th (Sunday) from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Shoudaiyaki Takemiya Kiln: Exhibition Display

Works by Shoudaiyaki Takemiya Kiln, which suffered damage in the Kumamoto earthquake, are on display in the front window of Seikado in Ginza. The exhibition is an expression of support and solidarity for the kiln's recovery.
